At LC Packaging, we have developed a Carbon Footprint Calculator for FIBCs in collaboration with The Footprinters. The new tool allows us to calculate the carbon footprint of each different FIBC much more precisely. It also shows the savings possible when using recycled materials or switching to reuse.

Exact carbon footprint calculation
The LC Carbon Footprint Calculator delivers an exact carbon footprint based on each customers’ individual situation, a first in the packaging industry! It requires various data regarding the FIBC, such as its weight, material composition, transport details, (re)use scenarios and end-of-life treatment.

Footprint information of LC Packaging’s key FIBC production partners is already available in the LC Carbon Footprint Calculator, allowing for an even more precise and personal footprint calculation.

The LC Carbon Footprint Calculator provides as output:

The total carbon footprint of the FIBC
The cradle-to-gate carbon footprint
A breakdown of emissions per lifecycle
The emissions per lifecycle if the FIBC is part of a reuse programme
